The Truth Behind Truth

Truth..... What comes in your mind when you first read this word? Facts, rightness, being true, reality???
Half of you might think of other synonymous words like these that might describe the truth. But the other half of you might have questions arising in your minds like "what exactly is truth?", "does it really have just one meaning?", "is truth universal?" and many more, just like I do.
For now, I don't have answers to any of these questions. But why not try going deep into it? Who knows what kind of truth might be awaiting us?

It's 3 in the afternoon, people are probably having their nap time, some are still working and then there is me who has absolutely no work to do, just gazing at the bright blue sky. I look at the moving clouds and recall a memory from my childhood...

The time when we thought clouds were cotton balls
Cottony Cloud

When I was little, I believed the clouds were big cotton balls and that one day I will go all the way up and bungee jump on those cottony clouds. Oh, what a life goal it was! At that age the cotton cloud was not just an idea, it was a truth, my truth. But later on, I went to school and realized that it was just water vapour floating in the sky and no cotton balls. Sigh.

Just as the younger me had to deal with a change in truth, each one of us, at different phases in our lives experience this 'change in truth'. That's what life is... It's a sea of... Okay. Okay. No boring philosophies. I get it. Back to the topic.

As for now, the vapour cloud is the truth for me and all of us. But what if 10 years later some scientists come up with a completely different theory about clouds? So what? I'll probably look back at my current self and wonder what a delusion we all were in.

The chair on which we keep our clothes to "rest"
"The Chair"
But this is how it is. Truth is not like a plastic bag that remains unaffected for hundreds of years, rather it is that bamboo stick which gets recycled and then at some point of time gets decomposed.

Truth is also not the idea that a chair is only meant for sitting, but it instead is the fact that you can keep your used clothes on it as well till the next time you wear it. (some of the readers might find this example irrelevant or unrelatable due to the fact of the example being highly middle-class and only for those who are extremely lazy.)

This picture shows why perception matters so much
Different Dimensional Shapes

What I mean is truth is not a two-dimensional square that you see at first, but it is the cuboid that has multiple dimensions in it. Truth is not the ultimate answer but a question as to how many sides it has.

There is no one truth. Everyone has their own truths. Your truth is different from my truth, but that does not make my truth a lie. Truth is an ever-changing concept. A six can be a nine, all it matters is how and from where do we see it. Truth has always been what we perceive. For some people, the earth is round, for some it's elliptical and for some it's flat. For some people, their opinion is the only truth while for some, truth is what they've heard all their lives. Some people demand evidence, some simply believe what they are told. The real meaning of truth is way broader than it seems. We cannot simply reduce it to a couple of words. Truth is situational. It has kept on changing from one age to the other and will continue to do so.

Some changes have been witnessed by us
Some are yet to be witnessed
Keep observing, as the one witnessing these changes
Is truly blessed.

It's Casual

A few days back a friend of mine showed me a picture of a girl and without much thinking I instantly asked him “girlfriend??” and just as I was about to feel the dumbest person on earth, he gave an even dumber reply. He said it was “casual”. Attraction So almost all my friends have been in casual relationships and I am pretty sure none of them was in their senses while doing so. I mean being with someone because you were simply attracted to them doesn’t make any sense to me at least. Has time become so worthless for everyone that they just want to waste theirs on someone else? Or is the time they already have for themselves not enough that they want others’ time and attention as well. I think the whole idea is to generalize every special aspect of life. Be it a relationship or even a feeling. Earlier a relationship meant two people being connected. This connection could be in any form be it a friendly connection, spiritual connection, platonic connection or anything that ...

Self Love

How amazing it is to fall in love with yourself! Blissful, isn't it? But are you really loving yourself?  Loving oneself doesn't just mean appreciating your beauty and booty. It is not just checking out yourself in the mirror all the time. It is not just about admiring the fact that you look good in pictures all the time. It is not about smiling all the time. It is not even about happiness all the time.  It is more about feeling content. It is about not feeling terrible when you feel lazy when you feel helpless when you are longing for certain things, people, places, when you are desperate when you are frustrated when you can't do even the smallest of things when you feel low. Self-love is not just about bathing and cleaning your body but also about meditating and cleansing your mind. It is not just about glamorizing your body but also about exercising your brain. It is about realizing that you too might have some toxic traits. You can't blame everyone ...
